Six artists not to miss during Day Two (Saturday October 3rd) of Weekend One at the Austin City Limits Festival

Day Two of the epic Austin City Limits Festival has a killer line up of bands and solo artists ready to take to stages at Zilker Park and considering the festival still has a full Sunday program plus another whole weekend of action to get through…it’s hard to think it’s only just getting started, given the high calibre of music rolling out right off the bat. For those of us on the other side of the globe, we can enjoy the ACL live stream from the comfort of home – here are five acts we’re keen to see do their thing.

Alabama Shakes

6:20pm on the Honda Stage

With this weekend’s show being an exclusive appearance from the band, there’s no doubt Alabama Shakes will have something special up their sleeve for ACL. Sound & Color has stood out as one of the albums of the year for sure and every opportunity we’ve had to see Alabama Shakes realise this material live has been excellent.

Charlotte OC

1:30pm on the Austin Ventures Stage

One of our favourites, Charlotte OC has continued to dominate through 2015 and establish herself as an exciting young artist to keep an eye on.

José González

6:30pm on the Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage

An endearing and memorable stage presence coupled with a songwriting talent and vocal quality to be commended, González is an obvious must-see on this festival line up.

Shakey Graves

3:20pm on the Miller Lite Stage

Shakey Graves = purveyor of music to get lost in emotionally and live, Alejandro Rose-Garcia projects his blues-folk fusion like in mesmerising fashion.

The Wind and the Wave

11:45am on the Austin Ventures Stage

Austin-based duo The Wind and The Wave were an act we were first switched on to at SXSW this year. Heartfelt songs, honest lyricism and a great dynamic makes this act so easy to get into and become hooked on.

Vince Staples

2:30pm on the Austin Ventures Stage

With his debut album solidly positioning him as an exciting young rap artist emerging in 2015, Vince Staples hasn’t rested on any laurels. The music is rebellious, clever and bitingly honest and as a performer, Staples has shown to have stepped up to the plate each time.

Austin City Limits takes place in Austin, Texas this weekend October 2nd to 4th and then repeats next weekend 9th to 11th for an almost identical lineup. Can’t make the festival this weekend or next? Tune in to the live stream all weekend for select performances! More details about that, and the festival, are available on their official website:http://www.aclfestival.com/.
