Pandora wraps up four days at SXSW with performances from Future Islands, Tkay Maidza & more

It was a slightly different agenda for Pandora at SXSW this year as the digital radio service concluded their annual Pandora House at Austin venue The Gatsby earlier tonight.

Running from Monday to Thursday and crossing into both Music and Interactive programming – as opposed to concluding on Saturday as in past years – Future Islands closed things out tonight following a stellar run of performances that included Australia’s own Tkay Maidza.

Earlier in the week, their program saw a diverse list of well established artists hit the stage including rapper T.I., Jimmy Eat World, Temples, !!! and The Drums. But as with the SXSW festival itself, it was many of the buzz artists and unknown names who provided some of the most memorable performances.

Among them was French artist Jain, who has easily been one of the most talked about artists of SXSW 2017. Performing solo, Jain (real name Jeanne Galice) showed off her stellar voice, outstanding production (trumpets and all) and great stage presence – even going so far as to loop the audience’s vocals in one of her tracks. PVRIS was another, with a huge voice and a powerful performance, that saw the quartet play major parties all across the week and sit as one of the festival’s most talked about bands. Flint Eastwood, Lewis Del Mar and Lizzo were among the other buzz artists to fill out the four day lineup.

In addition to providing entertainment for those at the iconic Austin Festival, music from the program was also streamed live on pandora.com/SXSW. You can head there for more details about their SXSW activation.

Pandora is available for Android and iOS in Australia and the USA.
