Yours & Owls come out swinging with one huge festival line up for October

Well, they promised it would be bigger. They promised it would be better. And in 2016 – the Yours & Owls crew have certainly delivered on the above in pulling together what is easily one of our favourite festival line ups we’ve seen yet.

Some of the country’s best (not to mention some rad international visitors) will be heading out to Wollongong this October to play for crowds at the festival’s expanded site down at Stuart Park. Crowds will be seeing inventive and fresh hip hop mixing alongside some of the country’s most established names, while the grit and grunge of some of our favourite rock bands sidle up alongside some of Australia’s indie giants.

The Yours & Owls Festival is also refreshingly gender-balanced this year, with the ladies standing up and dominating; Sampa the GreatStonefieldTkay MaidzaNicole MillarBec SandridgeLittle May…may many more Australian festivals follow this ethic.

With the likes of Ball Park MusicTEESDMA’sThe Hard AchesSkeggs and Thelma Plum all in the mix – the variety of Australian talent at Yours & Owls this year is mint. Speaking of our international visitors this year, recent SXSW darlings Bleached will be stopping by as part of their debut Australian tour, while Canada’s Black Mountain and PUP also are coming through. Chastity BeltThe Coathangers (pictured) and Antwon complete the US contingent, all providing some epic live music of their own to this bubbling melting pot of influences and talent.

The 18+ event will also be hosting a whole range of art and visual installations for the punters to check out, plus films and a brilliant menu of food and drinks on offer.

To nab your tickets via the festival’s pre-release session, you’ll need to be signed up to the Yours & Owls mailing list – head to Moshtix or Yours & Owls to be in on the game when they go on sale from 9am, June 17th.

General public tickets are available from 9am, June 20th via the same sites.
