triple j Unearthed launches its National Indigenous Music Awards competition for 2016!

Now taking off for its fifth year, the National Indigenous Music Awards and triple j Unearthed have launched their search for the best independent and unsigned Indigenous artist to perform at the 2016 NIMAs!

Previous winners have included Philly and Thelma Plum, with the prize including flights and accommodation for the award event in Darwin on August 6th, plus a $500 performance fee and airplay on both triple j and triple j Unearthed.

It’s pretty simple to be in the running for this one, all artists need to do is upload their songs to triple j Unearthed by July 3rd – the winner will be announced as part of triple j’s NAIDOC Week programming on July 7th!

If you’ve already got some music uploaded, you’re automatically in the running to win the competition, you just need to ensure that ‘Indigenous’ is selected on your Unearthed profile.
