Shining Bird’s Black Opal tour kicking off in Canberra tonight!

Ahead of releasing their highly-anticipated sophomore album Black Opal due October 7, Australiana-pop outfit Shining Bird are kicking off their huge album launch tour tonight in Canberra, seeing them through Deadlam Festival (Brisbane) plus shows in Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

Inspired by living in the Blue Mountains and immersing themselves in classic Australian films, Black Opal has been an ongoing two year creative project for the band. One of the first offerings from the record, ‘Helluva Lot’, is an honest Aussie anthem with a dreamy 80’s vibe, featuring didgeridoo from Charlie McMahon. ‘Helluva Lot’ paints a desperate picture of Australia’s quickly diminishing natural beauty while remaining effortlessly spirited.
