Tkay Maidza, Timberwolf and More Win Big at South Australian Music Awards!

Tonight, the South Australian music industry was celebrated with the 2015 South Australian Music Awards, held at the Mercury Cinemas. Tkay Maidza and Timberwolf were the big winners, along with other Australian artists and industry figures hailing from the City of Churches.

Rapper Tkay Maidza was given Best Female Artist, along with Best Release for her Switch Tape EP. Best Male Artist was awarded to modern folk bluesman, Timberwolf, aka Chris Panousakis.

SKIES won Best New Artist following the recent release of their single ‘Call For My Heart’ and their self-titled EP designed by artist Jack Vanzet was awarded Best Cover Art. Best Group went to Grenadiers, while Bad//Dreems took out Best Live Act. Motez was awarded Best Producer for his EP Vancouver. The public-voted category for Most Popular Artist was given to metal band Truth Corroded. 

Two previously unannounced awards were presented on the night, including  Robert DunstanBside Magazine editor, and Kelly Menhennett who was awarded $4000 to assist her career. Outstanding industry figures were also recognised including Craig Lock, Ross Osmon
