RIP Soundwave

Soundwave festival has officially been cancelled due to poor ticket sales, confirmed as of today. The festival will not be returning in 2017. AJ Maddah, one of the key players in organising the festival tweeted today “I am devastated to have to announce the cancellation of Soundwave 16 due to poor ticket sales. I am very sorry. I tried my best. #SW16”. There has been a lot of finger pointing and disputes between Maddah and the event sponsors, Ticketek and Eventopia. 2015 marks the twelfth and final year of Soundwave festival.

An end of an era happened this week

Last Sunday, 13th December, was John Safran and Father Bob’s last show on Triple J. The duo gave us ten years of asking the questions, finding the weird and wonderful and poking a stick at more religions than you thought existed. Safran will be going on to research for a new book looking into the Islam and anti-Islam debate scheduled for late 2016. Father Bob will continue his charity work with the father Bob Foundation and the Father Bob HopeMobile just to name a couple. 2016 will bring a new year with returning presenters and hopefully a couple new ones too.
