The nominees for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards include Courtney Barnett, D’Angelo, Taylor Swift, and more

As the music industry prepare for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2016 we once again come to the first announcement of nominees, the groups of artists who will be up for some of the biggest awards in contemporary music. The ceremony will take place in L.A at the Staples Centre on February 15th, crowning those in categories such as Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. The latter category features none other than world-dominating Aussie rocker Courtney Barnett.

Barnett is up for the coveted award, competing with the likes of James Bay, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, and Meghan Trainor.

The nominees for Record of the Year are D’Angelo, Mark Ronson, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and The Weekend.

Those vying for Song of the Year include Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Wiz Khalifa, Ed Sheeran, and Little Big Town.

Album of the Year will be between Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Alabama Shakes, Chris Stapleton, and The Weeknd.

The ‘big four’ categories are listed above. The full list of nominations is expected later today.
