The National Community Program for this year’s Groovin the Moo tour is here!

Groovin the Moo is of course, set to bring some Aussie favourites and must see international guests out to a regional town near you this April and May, but that’s not all the festival is putting up during the course of the tour. As with each year, the GTM team have made dedicated efforts to connect with the community and bring people’s talents into the fold; whether it in art, local produce or crafts, GTM has you covered.

2018 is no different, with the festival’s National Community Program boasting some great ways for punters and locals in the area to get involved. From the Maker Station, where punters can meet and work with local artists and DIY legends at the festival, to the return of the HEAPS GAY Milk Bar (Canberra exclusive) – an awesome safe space promoting good times, great tunes and more glitter than you can poke a stick at, the variety of options on offer at GTM this year is impressive.

Groovin the Moo is also linking up with Warner Music Australia for another year in giving emerging creators the opportunity to work at GTM, shooting an artist from the pit – this year, Portugal. The Man are onboard as your artist-as-subject. Along with this Shoot The Moo initiative, the festival introduces Film The Moo as well – one creative from each (Shoot & Film) will be chosen by a panel of judges to receive the following prize pack:

Two Udder Mayhem Tix to Their Local Show
A Tour of the GTM Site
A Meet and Greet with Portugal. The Man
GTM Merch Pack

For the winner of the Shoot The Moo competition, they will get the one photo pass to shoot the first three songs of Portugal. The Man’s set, as well as time with their photographer – Maclay Heriot – to receive some tips of the trade. As for the Film The Moo winner? They will get one video pass to access the photo pit to film the band’s first three songs, as well as time with GTM’s touring videographer Pat Rohl.Winners from each region in the Film The Moo comp will have their footage used in an edit for PTM too!
