The Lemon Twigs, Jain and Robyn Hitchcock named recipients of SXSW 2017’s Grulke Prize

The 2017 Grulke Prize winners have been announced as SXSW turns in for another year, recognising three artists across the categories of ‘Developing US Act’, ‘Developing Non US Act’ and ‘Career Act’.

In 2017, the ‘Developing US Act’ prize has been awarded to The Lemon Twigs, recognising the band’s creativity and potential off the back of their 2016 album, Do Nothing.

French singer-songwriter Jain has won the ‘Developing Non US Act’ Grulke Prize, an accolade well deserved; the artist has stood out as one of the festival’s highlight buzz artists and with her Platinum selling album Zanaka, Jain is taking different territories by absolute storm.

And finally, the 2017 Grulke Prize for ‘Career Act’ is Robyn Hitchcock. The 63 year old icon is readying the release of his new album, a self-titled effort, next month, four decades into a career already littered with accolades.

Developed to honour late Creative Director Brent Grulke five years ago, the awards have seen the likes of Iggy PopAnderson .Paak and more highlighted for their talents.
