You may have seen recently that the Flaming Lips are planning to host a concert with best friend Miley Cyrus wherein they’ll all be nude and milk will be involved because, well, of course they are. This partnership, although a little more than quirky, isn’t a surprising move for the Lips, whose career has always been marked by veering into the weird and wonderful. It’s fitting that they have been picked as one of the highlight performances on next year’s MOFO program down in Hobart and it marks a welcome return to Australian shores by the band who was last seen touring here a few years ago over New Year’s.
Today, a special headline show has been confirmed for Melbourne, with the Flaming Lips set to perform at the Palais Theatre on January 8th. Tickets for this show are on sale from 10am, October 22nd. If you are hooked up with Secret-Sounds’ mailing list however, you can gain access to a pre-sale session commencing from 10am, October 21st.
