Sufjan Stevens performs a live cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling”

Sufjan Stevens just blessed Jersey City with a brilliant, mostly faithful, cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling”, and some steady-handed legend in the audience recorded it for the world to see. Teaming up with R&B singer – and one of this year’s stand-out new artists – Gallant, Stevens pulls out some appropriately awkward dance moves while the two singers bounce off each other, giving Drizzy’s viral hit some new life.

Stevens joins a long line of musicians and pop stars who have offered up covers of the “it” song, including Jadakiss, Erykah Badu, Justin Bieber, and Alessia Cara.

Watch the full performance below, thankfully complete with good, clear audio.
