Splendour in the Grass opens its gates for 2016; Smirnoff help start the party

Splendour in the Grass opened its gates for punters arriving ahead of the official first day of programming on Thursday, laying out the welcome mat and inviting us all to get the party started early.

While the Tiny Dancer Stage hosted the likes of Fortunes, UV Boi, Charles Murdoch, Touch Sensitive and more, the multitude of arts and fashion stalls flexed their muscle for the first time this Splendour, enticing with their wares early.

The Smirnoff House remained a hectic party joint from 6pm through until midnight, with the Smirnoff Sound Collective taking the club-lovers through three specific years of dance music and mixes – from 2006 through to 2008.

On the live music side of things, Thursday at Splendour definitely belonged with the electronic and club artists, setting the tone for the weekends of those eager enough to be on site early.

Splendour in the Grass continues in Byron Bay through Sunday night. Tickets are sold out.
