Soulfest 2015 has been cancelled

In it’s second year, Soulfest was set to bring the likes of Mary J Blige, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, and Black Star out to Australia. Unfortunately, weeks out from the event, those plans have been cancelled with organisers citing poor ticket sales as the reason.

“…the financial loss that would be incurred by the event if it were to go ahead as planned would be devastating”, promoters wrote in a press release sent out to media this morning, apologising to all involved who have dedicated the past 7 months to working on the festival.

The future of Soulfest remains in question, while the news obviously comes as a disappointment after last year’s very satisfying events, which were headlined by neo-soul legends D’Angelo and Maxwell.

All related sideshows have also been cancelled.
