If you’ve been frequenting Sydney’s local music scene over the past few years, chances are you’ll be aware of the parties Rare Finds have been throwing. What started as a way for the boutique artist management and PR company to highlight their favourite emerging acts (and have a pretty damn fine time partying in the same breath), has now extended into an east coast tour from the tastemakers. Having already taken steps outside Sydney in hitting Brisbane for shows over the last 12 months, Rare Finds now line Melbourne up to complete this east coast tour format.
Launching in January, Rare Finds are bringing the party to Melbourne and Brisbane – along with a classic Sydney bout – with each showcase demonstrating the crew’s talent for curating a line up of some of the country’s best emerging talent.
“One of the biggest challenges faced by artists, managers and agents at the early stages of an artist’s career, is developing a live following.” Rare Finds’ Rob Carroll has said. “With the launch of our Melbourne event, we’re now able to provide an East Coast touring platform to new acts, so they can play to ready-made crowds, which largely consist of industry, tastemakers and the core local indie community.”
Headlined by Sunshine Coast legend Ayla, punters can see the following artists on the Rare Finds bills in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney:
Royal & The Southern Echo, Asha Jefferies, DJ Tom Bloomfield (Brisbane)
Otious, Magnets, British India DJs (Melbourne)
Akionawena, The Longboys, Rare Finds DJs (Sydney)
