The QLD State Winners of the AU Live Music Awards have been announced via 4ZZZ this afternoon! With the official event happening in Sydney tonight, we’re stoked to be able to reveal the winners of the four categories including Band of the Year, Voice of the Year, Event of the Year and Venue of the Year!
The winner of QLD Band of the Year is one of the AU’s favourite new bands, WAAX. A dynamic live force that is only continuing to flourish, WAAX have definitely been on our radar for a while and we’re stoked to see more and more people switch on to their energetic and killer music. Another popular Brisbane name to be announced as a winner of this year’s award for QLD Voice of the Year is the charismatic Jeremy Neale.
Winning QLD Venue of the Year at this year’s AU Live Music Awards was relative newcomer to the scene, The Triffid, a venue who has had a solid opening year with a high calibre roster of Australian and international talent take to their stage. And finally, the Jungle Love Festival took out Event of the Year – a popular staple on the live music calendar, the festival rated highly with voters!
