There is a market for anniversary tours, reunions, not to mention tours that bring out droves of music fans who are looking for a bit of a trip down memory lane. Back to a time when triple j was ‘still good‘, when Magic Dirt were upheld as one of the pillars of Australian rock and Grinspoon were leading the force of young Australian bands who had grit in their teeth and spit landing on the front row of each packed crowd.
Now, these bands are little older, a little more mellow, but can still pack a show with excellent sounds and memories to match. Enter: Hotter Than Hell. The next festival tour that is set to kick off in January has heard the cries of the over 30’s who yearn for that golden era of the j’s and summers spent in the company of bands like Eskimo Joe and The Superjesus (we’re a bit excited to jump back in here, too).
The tour is set to hit Townsville, Gladstone, Brisbane, Adelaide, Ispwich, Melbourne and Geelong for some great outdoor events featuring Grinspoon, Jebediah, Killing Heidi,The Superjesus, Dallas Frasca, The Koffin Rockers, Thirsy Merc, Rackett, Frenzal Rhomb, IV League, Regurgitator, 28 Days and Eskimo Joe – a great live music event for those in the cities that may be missed on a number of ‘national’ tours.
