National Community Radio Awards reveals new categories for 2018 season

The National Community Radio Awards will be coming to the Gold Coast this year, with winners being announced as part of the CBAA Conference on November 10th. Recognising excellence on radio across 30 categories this year, the awards have introduced some new categories to the 2018 awards, reflective of the successes of radio professionals across the board.

The new categories include Best New Radio Program, Best Online Content, Excellence in Creative Audio, Excellence in Innovative Programming & Content, Excellence in Journalism, Station Leadership and more.

Says CBAA CEO Jon Bisset of this year’s awards, “These awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise some of the incredible work happening in community radio stations around Australia every day. The categories acknowledge the multi-faceted role these stations play as independent free to air broadcasters, participatory community hubs and non for profit organisations. They celebrate the contributions that these stations make to strengthening Australian communities.”

Entries are open to representatives and CBAA member stations until June 27th – for more information, visit www.cbaa.org.au/awards.
