Musica Copa raises $10,000 for charity through annual football tournament in Sydney

On Friday, the music industry got involved in Musica Copa in Sydney, as the annual football fundraiser took off for its fourth year in Marrickville. This year, the tournament raised an impressive $10,000 for charity, with Lucky Entertainment taking out the winning trophy (plus $7,000 for their nominated charity, the Reach Foundation). Runners up, Universal Music, were awarded $3000 for their charity of choice, Musicians Making a Difference.

Since the event’s kick off in 2013, over $40,000 has been raised thanks to registrations by teams, sponsorship, door donations and bar proceeds. An impressive feat that is surely going to keep showing itself up year in, year out.

Musica Copa’s organisers, Paul Stix (UNDR Ctrl) and Martin Novosel (Purple Sneakers), have also confirmed that the tournament will be running for another year in 2017, while a new event is set to be introduced – stay tuned!
