Melbourne MC Sinks takes out the 2017 Hilltop Hoods Initiative

Emerging MC from Melbourne, Sinks, has won the 2017 Hilltop Hoods Initiative! Having already come through the ranks over the last few years and an artist to watch, the rapper and producer impressed the judging panel and has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Hoods and APRA AMCOS.

The prize money will be put towards the making and promoting of his album, while the Initiative also will be offering Sinks legal advice thanks to Media Arts Lawyers and a merchandise start up kit courtesy of Love Police ATM.

Says the Melbourne MC of his win, “This is a massive honour! Having seen so many talented recipients in the past years I feel truly humbled to have been successful in the Initiative. I’m really looking forward to making the most of this grant by putting out the best music I can.”

The Hilltop Hoods Initiative celebrated its 12th year in 2017 and with Sinks’ win, he now sits alongside past winners including Jimblah, K21, I AM D and Sarah Connor.

Congratulations!
