Low-fi charmers The Courtneys share new track from upcoming sophomore album, The Courtneys II

Vancouver based fuzzy-rock trio The Courtneys are returning to your earholes in the form of their second album, The Courtneys II, dropping February 17th via Flying Nun.

Following first cuts from the record “Tour” and “Silver Velvet”, third track “Minnesota” has just dropped and could be the cosiest, most charming snippet yet.

These guys are just so cool. They have an airy, washed out sound that rings from start to finish with fuzzy guitars and the echo of Jen Twynn’s stretching vocals. It’s a brisk visit to 90’s post-punk without sounding tired and bored. I really believe Twynn when she recalls missed missed opportunities and broken hearts, as endless riffs drive each line back and forth like a rockin’ wave. Good stuff.
