With SXSW (AKA “every music lovers ultimate fantasy”) just weeks away from taking over Austin, Texas the annual event continues to add names from all over the world to the seemingly endless program of live music. As always, Australia is going to be very well represented across the week, with the latest artists joining the fray including the soulful Jordan Rakei, world-dominating George Maple, and the always excellent Cut Copy.
Though they are far from small fish, they’ll be but only a few of the Australian names those heading on over to SXSW can expect to see throughout the week. The list also includes dominant future-if-not-already-legends Gang of Youths, the immensely talented Stella Donnelly, goal-kicker Amy Shark (who will join the likes of Jaden Smith and Tinashe at Pandora’s annual SXSW event), boss emcee Sampa the Great (who is from Sydney but is now U.S based), and perpetual show-stopper Thandi Phoenix.
No doubt most of those listed below will be joining the to-be-announced lineup for the annual Aussie BBQ, which has grown so popular at SXSW since it’s inception in 2003 that last year saw two iterations across town. Get hyped, and be prepared; check out the full list of Aussies that have been announced for SXSW 2018 so far.
