Flume’s Skin preview – what to take away from it?

Flume gon’ done dropped a preview of his sophomore album Skin this morning, sending fans into an understandable bit of a tizz. The EDM wunderkind of 2012 has been toiling away hard on the follow up to his impressive debut release, pulling off ambitious live shows around the world and more recently, doling out the Lockjaw EP back in 2013.

But what of Skin? All we’ve got to go on so far is a four minute preview track (listen below or download over at ToneDen) but already, we can tell that there’s a shitload more texture and depth to come from young Harley Streten on this album. He stood out initially for blending some smooth indie with dance music, mixing in infectious R&B sounds and playing with the boundaries of each genre and by the sounds of this cheeky little preview snippet, Flume’s got more tricks still to show us.

He’s been working on this one for a while now so here’s hoping the payoff is worth the wait – if anything, the teaser is juicy enough.
