First wave of showcase artists for Singapore’s Music Matters LIVE announced

Returning for its 12th year this September, Singaporean independent music festival, Music Matters Live, is set to unleash some amazing artists on a select number of venues throughout the city. As the premier event of its kind in Asia, the festival is set to draw huge crowds in from all around the world as this thumping music industry puts itself on display from September 9th – 12th.

The first batch of artists on this year’s program has been announced, with over 40 artists from across 14 countries confirmed to play Music Matters Live. The festival rollout coincides with the news that MML is linking up with Apple Music for the event in 2017, a massive coup for the global brand.

The Australian contingent is a strong one, with the likes of NUSSYSwim SeasonFairchildTom Jay Williams and more set to represent. Check the full list of announced artists out below!

For the first time in its history, Music Matters Live will introduce the ‘Artist That Matters 2017’ award; the winning band will be chosen in collaboration with Apple Music’s expert Editors and will be given the ‘New Artist Spotlight’ on Apple Music throughout Southeast Asia and beyond. Pretty cool, huh?

Main showcases of Music Matters Live will be held on the outdoor lawn of CHIJMES this year, with the venue coming onboard as a Main Venue partner – the events will be free to everyone to attend. The Aussie BBQ also returns, as does Taiwan Beats and Sounds of India, throwing a concentrated spotlight on the different countries being represented in Singapore next month.
