Falls Festival founder Simon Daly to bring new three-day music and arts festival to Weribee Mansion

Founder of Falls Festival has went and brought another three-day* festival into the Australian market, securing Melbourne’s Victorian era Weribee Mansion for The Lost Lands. Over the Melbourne Cup weekend (Oct 29 to 30*), this new all-ages festival will be driven by a local and international line-up of some very reliable bands and musicians, spread across several stages alongside a program of arts, theatre, thinking, comedy, and general creativity.

L.A’s Mariachi El Bronx will be flying down to headline a lineup that impressively brings in the likes of The Waifs, Missy Higgins, Architecture in Helsinki, Ozomatli, The Grates, and more to soundtrack what is being described as an immersive ‘lost land’ of arts and exploration.

Arts performances and installations will also be pulled from a local and international line up, from Polyglot Tangle to UK’s Makeover Mum and Dad, bringing their own shows to sit alongside other cultural experiences provided by the festival’s literacy area, where there will be readings and discussion topics for both adults and children; workshops encouraging skills and passions in songwriting, cooking, yoga, circus play, and more; there will even be some bushwalks, bike riding sessions, and visits to the nearby Werribee Zoo encouraging festival-goers to think much further beyond the typical festival experience.

The adventurous festival is the brainchild of Falls founder Simon Daly, who recently left the long-standing New Years period festival to focus on this venture.

“The Lost Lands will give parents the chance to reconnect with the festival experience, while instilling in kids, a love and appreciation of music, arts and adventure,” said Daly. “In Europe a number of Festivals include children; beyond ‘entry’. They program shared experiences to be enjoyed by parents, kids, singles – anyone really. The result is a more sophisticated generation who know, love and participate in the festival experience.”

Building on the improved food and drink scenes of festivals across Australia, The Lost Lands will feature a curated craft beer, wine, organic spirits, and festival food lineup. There is even plans to bring in a pop-up distillery and interactive camp kitchen.

*UPDATE: Lost Lands will now be a two-day festival (29th and 30th October) with one day ticket passes available. The line up has also slightly changed, see below for corrections.

One and two-day camping options are available and include standard camping, glamping and even mansion stays. For more information and tickets head to the official website HERE. Tickets are on sale now. Two day and single day passes available.
