Courtyard Sessions returns to Sydney with packed ten week program and Mardi Gras events

The Courtyard Sessions returns to Sydney’s Seymour Centre, with Heath Media’s Larry Heath returning to curate for the third consecutive year, kicking things off this Friday with Timothy James Bowen, and Victorian artist Anna Smyrk on Friday, January 26th, supported by Ethan Conway.

The event continues through March 23rd with performances from the likes of SUIIX (pictured), Lady Lyon, Nicole Brophy, Kid Heron, Leah Flanagan, Adelaide’s Naomi Keyte and many more.

The series will also feature a number of special events as part of the Mardi Gras Program. On Saturday, February 17th, Harley Mavis and Phantastic Ferniture’s Elizabeth Hughes will perform. Harley Mavis is the new indie rock band fronted by Hannah Robinson. Coinciding with Fair Day on Sunday, February 18th, Newcastle’s Rachel Maria Cox – who is also manager of the Sad Grrrls Club – and local outfit Hollow States will hit the Courtyard stage. And finally, Chicks With Picks will showcase three incredible musicians on Friday, February 23rd: Lola Sola, Colleen Fricker (ex. Two Girls Will) and Cassy Judychair.

Students of AIM will have a chance to perform, supporting a yet-to-be-announced special guest on March 2nd or Naomi Keyte on March 23rd. AIM Students will be provided information on how to register to perform at the start of their school year.
