Bowie tribute, Paul Kelly, Lisa Gerrard & more on Melbourne Festival music line up!

The Contemporary Music program of this year’s Melbourne Festival has been unveiled – another exciting and diverse range of shows pulled together to whet the appetites of music fans this October.

Among the headline performances is a special tribute to David Bowie in David Bowie: Nothing Has Changed, featuring iOTATim RogersSteve KilbeyAdalita and Deborah Conway, backed by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Also a leading feature show at the Melbourne Festival this year will be Paul Kelly and Camille O’Sullivan‘s celebration of W.B. Yeats and other Irish poets in their show, Ancient Rain.

Paying tribute to Clinton Walker‘s acclaimed film, book and album Buried Country, the likes of Roger KnoxLuke Peacock and Auriel Andrew will be bringing the material to life at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

Lisa Gerrard brings her latest album Blank Page to the Hamer Hall on October 19th as part of the festival, a rare opportunity for Australian fans to see this indomitable voice perform.
