VAULTS

This London-based electronic-pop trio are on the verge of somethin’ huge. With comparisons to Bat For Lashes and The xx, it’s not hard to get absolutely encapsulated by Blythe Pepino’s silky, and often very sexy* vocals layered atop glowing electronic melodies. This week, the band announced their upcoming debut album, Caught In Still Life, will be released December 2nd through Republic Records, with David Wrench on outsourcing of mixing, who has previously worked his magic alongside big-guns Jamie XX, FKA Twigs and Jungle. Pre-order Caught In Still Life HERE!

*So sexy that the Vaults track “One Last Time” can be heard on the Fifty Shades of Grey: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

MOLLY BURCH

Transport yourself to a summer’s evening in the early 70’s, dancing barefoot in the backyard, sipping Pimm’s and eyeing off a cute guy in too-tight polo shirt. This is where Molly Burch’s nostalgic and charming songwriting will take you, especially with her latest single “Try”, set to make an appearance on her forthcoming debut album Please Be Mine, due February 17th. Check out this nostalgia-drenched number and swoon over Burch’s smokey vocals below!

SEVDALIZA

With a syncopated electronic soundscape similar to the experimental sounds of James Blake, this Iranian-born Dutch muso is absolutely one to watch. With a debut album set for 2017, the multi-talented singer/songwriter has released a fierce, visually-moving music video to accompany her new single “Human”. As an artist, her hauntingly minimalist electronic-pop explores social and political norms, staying true to her own ideologies and presents them unapologetically. As a daughter of political refugees, Sevdaliza‘s unique life story reflects deeply on her art. Check out the mesmerising clip for “Human” below!

LOS CAMPESINOS!

Seven-piece indie rock outfit Los Campesinos! have announced their new album, Sick Scenes, will be dropping February 24th via Wichita Recordings. This will be the band’s first LP since No Blues in 2013, and have released lead single “I Broke Up in Amarante” to get us hyped in the meantime. These guys have produced an impressive catalog of sometimes melancholy, sometimes exuberant, always honest indie tunes that don’t seem to fade. On their latest single, frontman Gareth Campesinos! said, “It’s about how my main coping mechanism (of battling bad mental heath) was to keep myself constantly drunk in the blistering heat of Amarante while being failed by a largely terrible international football tournament.”

Check out the title tracks for No Blues below!

KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD

Up there as one of the hardest working Australian bands, both in and out of the studio, King Gizzard are a mob that need no introduction. Ahead of the lazy four albums due to be released next year, they’ve dropped the opener for their forthcoming album, aptly titled Flying Microtonal Banana, due for release February 24th and available for pre-order HERE. The single titled “Rattlesnake”, is an 8-minute psychedelic worm-hole into the mind-bending realm of King Gizzard, brimming with monotonous riffs over a low-fi buzz. This will get stuck in your head and you may forget what the time/day/month/year it is after the first listen. Give it a go.
