NIGHTMARES ON WAX

Nightmares on Wax will release the Ground Floor EPGeorge Evelyn‘s first full release in over four years next month! A reflection of his immersion in club culture, the EP takes things back to basics.

“I wanted to take things back to the basic club elements I was brought up on and how I started out as a DJ and a dancer,” he says. “I’ve spent the best part of two years on the road and most of them back in my elements as a DJ in nightclubs, so this record was inspired by me going back to my late-night house music roots.”

The Ground Floor EP is out via Inertia/Warp on November 25th – pre-order it HERE.

JAMES PARRY

Hobart musician James Parry has announced the release of his new album, In The Lights, out now! Full of sweet guitar and drums, In The Lights has already begun hitting people in all the right spots, especially off the back of album single “Young Emotions”. For fans of Paul Kelly and The Shins, this one is for you – In The Lights is available now to purchase online. Visit Parry’s website HERE.

Melbourne band Big Smoke are gearing up to release their debut album Time Is Golen on October 28th via Barely Dressed! They’ve been praised by tastemaker blogs overseas including Stereogum and already, the album’s latest single “Wrong” has been ticking all the right boxes. The album, recorded late last year, is a particularly poignant one – with vocalist and songwriter Adrian Slattery undergoing rounds of chemotherapy to battle oesophageal cancer and brain surgery shortly after. Sadly, Slattery passed away in May this year. Time Is Golden features 10 tunes written by Slattery over 10 years, with additional arrangements from the rest of the band, while Grammy winning engineer Shawn Everett also came on board.
