A headline set from Ludacris packs out the first night of Vevo House at SXSW

The best shows are when they are intimate like this, and we can do whatever the fuck we want”, shouted ATL hip hop veteran Ludacris as he headlined the frenzied first night of the Vevo House at SXSW.

For the next three nights, Vevo will be posted up at 508 Bar & Pelons Tex Mex with a strong house party vibe, a small outdoor stage, and – if you’re lucky enough to get in – free drinks and food. Luda was the first big-ticket act to make full use of the lively atmosphere, which was already buzzed from a live set by up-and-coming Brooklyn rapper Thutmose, who delivered a short but potent set highlighting a talent we’ll be hearing much more of in the coming months.

Flanked by his long term collaborators Fate Wilson and DJ Infamous, Luda stood as one of the festival’s most popular acts so far – the reward hidden at the end of a sizable queue of fans struggling for a coveted spot.

From “Welcome 2 Atlanta” to rowdy classic “Move Bitch”, the Radio DJ turned hip hop and Hollywood superstar squeezed just over 20 of his biggest hits into a set heaving with the kind of energy that’s slowly but steadily kicking us into the thick of SXSW. You can check out the full set list below and make sure to keep checking back as we bring you more of the action from this year’s SXSW.
