Single of the Day: Todd Sibbin “And We’ll Say That We’re Done” (2015)

Now, I may be slightly biased (being based in Adelaide), but South Australia has been producing some brilliant songwriters over the past few years. Across all genres too, but in particular, our folk and acoustic songwriters have really been coming through with the goods. Todd Sibbin is a perfect example; as he prepares to head into the New Year with an album primed for release, Sibbin releases the first single from the upcoming record in “And We’ll Say That We’re Done”.

On paper, it’s a solid folk track. Listen a little closer and it’s not long before the delicate nature of the vocals, the elegance of the production and the beautifully crafted sounds Sibbin has brought forth to record all present themselves like a vibrant painting. There’s an honesty and openness to the songwriting on this release and without giving too much away, Sibbin allows the listener in to get a grasp the themes of relationships (and the whirlwind of emotions that come with them) he’s put to paper.

Sibbin will be releasing “And We’ll Say That We’re Done” as featured on upcoming album The Bottled Ship Got Freedom in 2016 through Poke in the Eye Records. In the meantime, take a listen to the track below!
