Single of the Day: The Griswolds “Out of My Head” (2016)

Fans of The Griswolds, have fun getting this one out of your head. It’s been a little while since we’ve heard new material from the Be Impressive purveyors but it would seem that time away in their now-second home of LA and surrounds has done them a world of good in continuing to craft a big and brash pop sound that’s translated so well to live stages across the country.

New single “Out of My Head” dropped ahead of the weekend and in signature Griswolds style, they hook the listener in with euphoric vocal delivery, catchy choruses and a larger-than-life aiming pop composition taking in synths, percussion, guitar and slick production over the top. A break up song you’re gonna want to sing if you’re at that angry, fuck you, stage of the dealing-with process, “Out of My Head” is a solid return from the Sydney boys and we can only hope this is a taste of what’s to come from album number two.
