Single of the Day: The Cactus Channel “Sorry Hills” (2017)

Ahead of a collaborative six-track EP due April 21st, Melbourne’s soul-driven gang The Cactus Channel and Sam Cromack (Ball Park MusicMy Own Pet Radio) have dropped single ‘Sorry Hills’, the first taste of what’s to come.

The single promises what’s to come on the EP, dancing the lines between alternative soul and indie pop; Cromack‘s melancholy lyrics and crooning vocals interweave with the band’s smooth music. The rhythm section, effortless guitar sweeping the track, and intuitive tension/release dynamics make this track smoother than the soles of James Brown‘s shoes.

Cromack disclosed the upcoming EP: “I got into The Cactus Channel years ago and I was thrilled when we met each other and talked about maybe making some music. Working on the EP has been a lot of fun, it’s been very laid back… The sound is nice; it’s probably some of the moodiest and most chilled-out music I’ve ever made. It’s gonna be a good late-night record.

Keep your ears to the ground for their EP, dropping April 21st.
