Single of the Day: SAATSUMA “Floating” (2016)

Hello, SAATSUMA. Let’s cut to the quick – where have you guys been all my life?

In new single “Floating”, the Melbourne group have given us an electronic track full of texture and richness. The vocals ooze soul, while the production adds to the haunting and and oddly hypnotic nature of the track’s arrangement. It’s darkly enticing, inviting to the listener nonetheless – it didn’t take us long to jump in and be swept up by the music on this one.

Memphis KellyCesar Rodrigues and Joel Ma have struck upon a great creative dynamic with SAATSUMA it would appear and if “Floating” is any example of where this project is still to go, I’m excited to see where they take us next.
