Single of the Day: Noire “Real Cool” (2017)

Chances are you may not have heard of Noire. Chances definitely are, you’re going to be hearing more from the Sydney-based duo if their debut single “Real Cool” is anything to go by. Since their formation in 2014, Noire have been making some intriguing and crafty pop tunes, encompassing ultra-melodic sounds and influences that display a great knack for musical texture and tone.

“Real Cool” is taken from Noire’s debut album, Some Kind of Blue (due out in September),  and sounds like it could fit easily alongside anything by Air which makes sense, given the duo’s affinity for the French group. Says Jessica Mincher of the single, “It’s about the things you tell yourself when you think the one you love doesn’t feel the same anymore”.

The end result is a lush and cinematic tune that hypnotises and takes the listener totally into their world.
