Single of the Day: Machine Age “Don’t Look” (2016)

“Don’t Look”, the new single from Brisbane-via-Cairns artist Machine Age is full of warm guitar, pulsating drum loops and electro production – an impressive release from an artist sure to have an exciting 2016. The single takes its time in burning up, with the vocalist’s entrancing vocals drawing the listener in with each prompt, ‘Don’t look back.

From the 3 minute mark onward, “Don’t Look” shifts in tone and we’re met with a dive deeper into Machine Age’s talented production, the vocals soar and that driving glitch-rock sound introduced as simmering early on in the song fully comes to life.

Playing live as a one-man-band with a guitar, his voice, a sampler, synths, and other gadgets, he also took on BIGSOUND 2015, Brisbane’s End of the Line Festival and most recently, The Mountain Goat Valley Crawl. The release of ‘Don’t Look’ coincides with an upcoming spot at Tassie tastemaker event A Festival Called PANAMA an upcoming video and an EP later this year. Keep an eye out. It won’t be long until this machine is in overdrive.
