LANKS has been generating some impressive momentum for his music and skills as producer and multi-instrumentalist for a little while now, but crowds around the country recently have seen just what he can bring to the table, off the back of successful shows with NGAIIRE. Now, we’ve got a brand new single from LANKS in “Bitter Leaf” and once again, it’s another example of the positive moves this Melbournian is taking moving forward.
Now added to BIGSOUND, LANKS is definitely an artist you should make time to see if you’ve not yet had the opportunity to do so. Blending indie with electro with finesse that captures your attention quickly, it’s no surprise that he’s been seen on stages with the likes of SAFIA and Broods in recent memory.
“Bitter Leaf” is gorgeous in its composition, completely enveloping in approach. If you take the knack for crafting otherworldly and interesting music Gotye first brought to the attention of a wider mainstream audience and couple it with beautiful rhythmic progressions akin to Ry X and Chet Faker, you’ve got a LANKS vibe. He’s definitely one to watch.
