Single of the Day: Hockey Dad “Jump the Gun” (2016)

We last saw Hockey Dad killing it at SXSW this year and by all accounts, the duo had been making similar positive impressions on audiences through the UK and Europe in recent months. The Leisure Coast twosome have continued the momentum build for their much anticipated debut album Boronia, with the release of new single “Jump The Gun” the week – another insatiable slice of dreamy surf pop from Zach and Billy.

As Billy says, the origins of their new single came from staring at a poster for surf movie, Endless Summer II“The lyrics spiralled off the line ‘On any day of the year, it’s summer somewhere in the world.’ We found the demo from when we first started the band and thought we’d bring it back to life for the album.”

Check it out below!

Hockey Dad will be appearing at the Yours & Owls Festival at Stuart Park in Wollongong this October. You can pre-order Boronia HERE ahead of its official release on August 12th!
