Single of the Day: Danny Barwick “Flickering” (2017)

This week, we’ve been introduced to Melbourne multi-instrumentalist and producer, Danny Barwick. A debut EP for Barwick in Distance is close to release too, which has made us wonder where he’s been when he’s not been on our radar all this time.

His single “Flickering” has airs of James Blake and Radiohead surrounding it; toeing the line of poetic surrealism, the song occupies a space that has been meticulously crafted by Barwick and produced by Oscar Dawson. Rich in sound quality and delivered with an odd haunting nature that immediately caught our attention, “Flickering” is more than just a flash in the pan song out of Melbourne’s thriving producer scene.
