Single of the Day: Belle Mare “Liars” (2018)

Fresh sounds that stretch the normalities of music are often a hard find nowadays, but for music that is easy-going and pleasing to the ear, look no further than Bell Mare.

The duo, consisting of Thomas Servidone and Amelia Bushell, first began making music together after meeting in a bar in Brooklyn, and whilst started recording in a bedroom, eventually worked their way up to the Electric Lady Studios in Manhattan, built by famed rocker Jimi Hendrix. After two releases which have garnered the attention of the likes of SPIN and the New York Times’ T Magazine, the duo are back with “Liars”.

The three and a half minute song, the lead on a forthcoming untitled release, produces an eerie and spatial feeling, rare to find in today’s music and society. With Bushell’s hauntingly beautiful vocals delicately weaved through the guitar and synth melody, “Liars” creates a smooth and easy listen, perfect for those long drives and calm days.
