Single of the Day: Alice Ivy ft. Georgia Van Etten “Touch” (2016)

Today’s choice for Single of the Day comes out of Melbourne where, lets be real, there exists some incredibly cool young musicians and producers making some effortlessly attractive music. Alice Ivy (moniker of Annika Schmarsel) is just one of these talented individuals, blending some great electro and soul influences together in producing a sophisticated and slick slice of new music deserving of your attention.

Linking up with British vocalist Georgia Van Etten, new single “Touch” highlights an arrangement reminiscent of some Avalanches material; the manipulation of guitar and beats on the track in particular make the single and instead head-nodder. Alice Ivy establishes a warm and inviting soundscape quickly and invites the listener to get taken away by – we’re on board.
