Whitney stood out as one of the highlight finds of SXSW for us this year – the multi piece from Chicago really taking our attention with their striking take on some classic indie folk, but presenting it in a gorgeous and refreshing new fashion. Their debut album Light Upon the Lake is coming out in June and in their new single, “Golden Days”, the band has dropped the perfect introductory tune for hopefully more listeners out this way.
As a band, you can tell that each member plays their role and plays into a solid dynamic very well – Whitney has become more than the duo project of Max Kakacek and Julien Ehrlich.
