Music Video of the Day: REMI ft. Sampa the Great “For Good” (2016)

“Where’s your self-esteem, gorgeous? Did it go when I told you that I was a cheat, gorgeous? I had to come clean, even if I made you smash my Nintendo Wii, gorgeous…”

Oh REMI, Remi, Remi. The Melbourne hip hop favourite lays his laddish past out on the table on his new single, “For Good”, featuring the amazing Sampa The Great. It’s a track that, with its soulful arrangement and funky as hell delivery, has already made it one of our favourites of the year (early call, but we’re standing by it) and now, “For Good” has a music video to back the successful single release up.

The narrative of the song itself plays out well in the video, while both REMI and Sampa share the spotlight within it too. As REMI explains, “The inspiration behind the song is mad basic. I was a scandalous prick, and I wanted to outline how it went down and how it effected everyone involved. The best way to do this was to have both the male and female perspective.

You’ll be able to see REMI and Sensible J rolling out “For Good” and other gems on the Groovin’ the Moo tour (kicking off this weekend), as well as their own headline single tour next month. Check out the music video below and note the tour dates coming up!
