Music Video of the Day: Major Leagues “It Was Always You” (2017)

Brisbane four-piece Major Leagues are synonymous with garage pop; slacker-style guitar pop with dreamy vocal harmonies and laid back riffs. Their latest offering, ‘It Was Always You’, is the epitome of their melancholic pop-rock, evoking raw nerves and heartbreak while cladding your ears in their bewitching sounds.

The clip accompanying is humble, warm, and very Brisbane-ish, filmed under a Hills Hoist behind a Queenslander.

‘It Was Always You’ is the first taste of their upcoming debut album, set for release midyear with Popfrenzy. If this is the standard we can expect from the LP, the release can’t come soon enough. In the meantime, enjoy the single, the video, and the cover art, featuring bassist Vlada as a bub. Can Major Leagues get any sweeter?

Major Leagues are playing a few intimate shows in Brisbane and Sydney to support the single:

April 20 | The Foundry (Brisbane)
April 27 | Golden Age Cinema & Bar (Sydney)
April 29 | Oxford Art Factroy, Rare Finds 2nd Birthday (Sydney)
