Music Video of the Day: Lee Ranaldo “New Thing” (2017)

Lee Ranaldo has given fans another taste of his new album Electric Trim, in the release of “New Thing” and it’s accompanying music video! The video comes directed by Naomi Yang (Julia Holter, Richard Youngs) and follows Ranaldo making his way through New York City – a sharp and unique look at the way society is consumed by technology.

Described as ‘my song about the Internet’, Ranaldo’s latest outing takes aim at a growing obsession with smart phones and small screens and filters it in its own way.

“We didn’t have to do anything more than hit the streets of New York to find the familiar scenario of everyone out and about glued to their screens,” Yang says. “Lee, although he was carrying around a cumbersome vintage screen, was not so out of place.”

Check it out below – Electric Trim is due out on September 15th!
