Music Video of the Day: DMA’s “Too Soon” (2016)

DMA’s are one of those bands who can do so much without looking like they’ve done much at all. In their lyricism, some brilliant narratives are crafted yet a no bells and whistles/smoke and mirrors approach to their brand of Britpop-licked indie music has made the Sydney group relatable to everyone in some way or form. To have watched DMA’s continue to develop and become embraced as well as they have done by an international audience over the last year too, has been great to see, especially given that their attitudes toward their craft hasn’t changed.

Their new single “Too Soon” signals some tops material to come from the lads on their long awaited debut album Hills End and late last week, fans were gifted with a film clip to accompany. Again, the result is a effectively simple, yet slick as fuck production from DMA’s and in this case, director Mitchell Grant. The dark colours add to a hazy, swaggering vibe “Too Soon” projects through the music – resulting in a great watch.
