Exclusive Single Premiere: The Dunes “(Just Because You’re Not Being Followed Doesn’t Mean You’re Not) Paranoid” (2018)

Primed and ready for this year’s PsychFest, Adelaide six-piece The Dunes have shared with us their new single, “(Just Because You’re Not Being Followed Doesn’t Mean You’re Not) Paranoid”!

Set for release this Wednesday, the song is a stark look at the effects of being brainwashed – timely for today, where we’re seeing the effects of mainstream media and extremist views on the public. As vocalist/percussionist Stacie says, “People are made to be paranoid through the mainstream media and cling to it as a trusted source while building walls around themselves, literally and figuratively, to try and keep out the ‘bad guys‘. …There’s always something new to be afraid of – but there are those of us that know, most of this isn’t true, the real threat is those telling you how you should be thinking”.

The Dunes’ latest is rich in fuzzed out, heavy goodness; recorded and engineered at Adelaide’s Twin Earth Studios and produced, mastered and mixed in Austin, Texas, “(Just Because You’re Not Being Followed Doesn’t Mean You’re Not) Paranoid” is a fine release from one of SA’s hardest working acts. Taken from their forthcoming debut album, we’re excited to see what’s coming up next.
