Exclusive Single Premiere: John Depth Ft. SLik d “Juicetown” (2015)

Following their excellent debut single, “Couches”, local production team John Depth – awarded producer Tim Carr and singer-songwriter Paul Conrad – have hooked up with Long Beach rapper-singer SLik d to release “Juicetown”. The duo’s second single continues their love for the darker side of electronica, lifting SLik d’s slick raps with a forceful blend of off-kilter bass, percussive handclaps, and screwed up trap drums.

Conrad’s vibrato hook is obscure for an Australian duo, morphing into something more in-line with Cali hip-hop and staying in sync with SLik’s breezy rhymes, putting this forth as another winner for John Depth, who remain one of the most unique and exciting new sounds on Australia’s hip hop/electronica scene.

“Juicetown” is premiering today here on the AU, released on Reel Deep Records, which is Carr and Conrad’s own label built to supporting emerging musicians. Listen below.
