Exclusive Album Premiere: The Treehouse Children “Please” EP

Some say it’s their air-tight live show and rollicking pop-rock beats, others say it’s their cat-like reflexes and boyish charms. Regardless, The Treehouse Children are showing the best of the Australian independent music scene, rounding out 2016 with a hugely successful national tour.

Out February 17th, the Newcastle six-piece are releasing their debut EP Please, and we are more than pleased to be able to give you an exclusive premiere.

The six track EP is calypso vibe-ing, jangly, and very, very danceable album, complete with some skanky, near ska moments. Surprisingly, although the early 2000s ska scene left me scarred, this EP left me dancing, not reeling.

Tracks include single “Woo”, and my personal favourite, “Please”, where indie-pop moments seamlessly transition to a swelling horn section. Their choruses smack you in the head, and echo around in there for days to follow – lucky they’re out on tour, so you can catch them live and dance it out.
