The Shabbab. Let the Melbourne-via-Tel Aviv four piece take you through some epic garage rock this glorious Monday morning, thanks to their brilliant debut album GARLIC. Having made a name for themselves as a name to be watching in the same vein as your PONDs and your King Gizzards of late, The Shabbab step further out into the spotlight with this album; it’s energetic, brash and unafraid of utilising an eclectic range of influence and backgrounds in creating some music that it utterly their own.
Produced by the band and mastered by Mikey Young, GARLIC had The Shabbab record in a caravan on the outskirts of Melbourne before readying this bad boy for its official release (cop it today) via independent label, Hive Minds.
The music is frenetic but remains slick and tight in delivery; wailing vocals, crashing percussion and guitar that hooks you in, GARLIC is a perfect album to turn up and tune out to for a while. Let the 13 tracks do their thing – you won’t be disappointed.
